Germany, Imperial. A U-Boat War Badge, Unknown Maker Variant Republic of WW1 Hamburg Hanseatic Cross(U Boot Kriegsabzeichen). Constructed of gilded bronze, the obverse consisting of an oval laurel leaf wreath wrapped in ribbon, topped by a German State Crown, and overlaid by a central U Boat situated over a hollow void, the reverse with a barrel hinge and horizontal pinback meeting a flattened and rounded catch, unmarked but demonstrating the characteristics of a documented variant produced by an unidentified manufacturer using the Schott design,
