De zijden stof is uitgeknipt van gedragen zijden sari's. Een sari is ongeveer 6,6m lang en wordt om het lichaam gedrapeerd. Miljoenen vrouwen in India dragen dagelijks een sari. Deze sjaal is het creatieve werk van kantha borduursters die van gedragen sari's kleine meesterwerken maken. Elke sjaal is een uniek exemplaar.
