WW1 Trench Art Heart Ring gilt metal as the StrongDATE: WW1, c. 1915 An incredible example of WW1 "trench art",made by a soldiers on the front lines using whatever materials they had to hand. This ring is predominantly aluminium, likely from the nose cone of an artillery shell, set at the head with a copper (?) heart. Given the circumstances under which it was made, the quality is quite remarkable it's crude, but well made, and on account of the aluminium it's deceptively light. Presumably made to
